What’s the difference between membership and donations?
Membership fees ($48/year for professionals, FREE for students) provide access to specific member benefits and services. Donations are separate, optional contributions that support IMA’s broader mission and may be tax-deductible as allowed by law (501(c)(3) pending).
How do I verify my student status?
When applying for free student membership, you’ll need to provide proof of current enrollment in a medical, nursing, or health sciences program. This can be a student ID, enrollment letter, or official transcript. Verification is typically processed within 2-3 business days.
Can I upgrade from Student to Professional membership?
Absolutely! When you graduate or complete your training, you can easily upgrade to Professional membership for $48/year. Contact us and we’ll help with the transition, and you’ll retain all your previous member history and benefits.
What happens if I don’t renew my membership?
Your membership and associated benefits will expire at the end of your annual period. You’ll still have access to IOMJ as it’s open access, but you’ll lose voting rights, certification opportunities, and other member-exclusive benefits. You can rejoin anytime.
